Viagra:ED and heart diseases
In Russia a man died from an overdose of Viagra. The man, a mechanic, by the name of Sergey Tuganov is reported to have taken an entire bottle of Viagra. He did this because he entered into a bet with two women that he would not be able engage in half a day of sex with them. After agreeing to a bet of $5,000 the 28 year old man went through the terms and is reported to have succeeded. However, barely a few minutes after he collected his winnings he keeled over and died—from an apparent heart attack.
Although the women rushed to call emergency services their efforts were futile. By the time the paramedics arrived on the scene there was no chance of recovery. Alongside the many pills of Viagra, it is said that he also ate walnuts and cream, a combination that is believed by many herbalists to also contain aphrodisiac effects.
This is not the first time that a man has died from a drug overdose but it does call to fore the importance of the warnings that have associated the used of Viagra. Viagra tablets, sold in doses of 25mg, 50mg and 100mg are undoubtedly the worlds best anti impotence drug.
However, like any other drug, wrongly using these tablets will result in unpleasant side effects. It is advised that people refrain from exceeding a 24hr window between their Viagra prescriptions for people suffering from HIV this frame is increased to be 48 hrs.
Exceeding the prescribed dosage of Viagra can result in some severe side effects. One such common example is that of Priapism. Priapism is a situation where a man a man is left with a prolonged erection for many hours. Contrary to public opinion, this effect is extremely painful for the bearer. The effects of Viagra remain in the body for as much as 5 hours and during this period possible side effects might reoccur.
In other to avoid taking dosages that are too high, users are normally started with the lowest dosage. The dose is then increased if no positive result is identified. For men above the age of 65 however, 25mg is the more commonly prescribed option.
The use of Viagra is also avoided for individuals who are taking tablets that contain Nitrates. Because Nitrates cause a drop in blood pressure as does Viagra, a combination of these two drugs can result in severe deeps in blood pressure—a feature that can cause blackouts or possible strokes.
For individuals who are suffering from cardiac conditions, or who have not engaged in sex for a long while, it is advised that they seek the professional opinion of a medical practitioner before again resuming sex.
Viagra tablets cause an increase in blood flow amongst the body’s arteries.
As a result of this, the affected male sex organ, which normally is starved of sufficient blood flow, is once again provided with sufficient blood to the required areas. However, this increase in blood flow also affects other parts of the body e.g the heart. Viagra tablets have been found to be so effective in addressing the rate of blood flowing into the heart that its use as a treatment for hypertension has been approved by the FDA.
Above all, men who are healthy are urged to avoid taking Viagra pills for experiment. Very much like the Russian wrongly did.
