Viagra:A sexologist's take

There are many established sexologists in the world, but few are more recognized in India than Dr Prakash Kothari. A practicing sexologist for the last 36 years, Dr Prakash is renowned for his many studies and publications on the topic of man’s sexuality—history, hype and hearsay.

In a recent interview Dr Prakash sought to enlighten some of his views on the topic of sex.

For instance when asked whether men derived emotional fulfillment from sex, he replied that yes, this did indeed happen. He however went on to add that this fulfillment could either be physical or psychological depending o the man.

He also shed his views on various other issues of sex, some of which included the attitude of men towards sex and the approach of the male orgasm.

When asked if Viagra was as important as the adverts claimed it to be, his reply was anything but vague. Said Dr Prakash “…It is even better. It is one of the most commonly used drugs and I must have saved many marriages by prescribing it. If someone has the desire, he should have the means to do something about it.”

The view of Dr Prakash echoes those by thousands of doctors around the world. Medically, Viagra pills are recognized as being the best cure for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Available in three different doses, 25mg, 50mg and 100mg, Viagra pills have been prescribed more than half a million times. They are approved and endorsed by the FDA and boast an 86% success rate amongst men. It is no wonder that doctors swear by is use.

Released in the closing stages of the last century—1998, Viagra tablets are produced by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer and contain the chemical Sildenafil citrate. Its action result in a relaxing of the major blood vessels in the body allowing for a smoother flow of blood in the male sexual organ.

However, it is important to point out that whilst Viagra pills are able to ease the symptoms of impotency and again allow an erection, they are by no means a cure for erectile dysfunction. The healing effects of Viagra tablets are found to last for about 4 hours at which point the drug is gently washed out of the body.

Viagra tablets are sold on online pharmacies and are available at more affordable prices. Although the tablets are safe, it is warned that their use must be made firmly within prescribed limits.

Exceeding the stated dosage can result, amongst other things, in unwanted side effects such as cardiac conditions, stomach aches and headaches and a discoloration of vision.

Viagra tablets are used by more than 50 million men around the world. Its use has restored life in many relationships. Statistics show that 2 out of every 5 men above the age of 50 are prone to develop conditions of ED.

This percentage is found to be much higher as the age demographic increases. Regardless of a man’s age, Viagra tablets can be used as long as he possesses no other weakening health condition.
