You just knew that when the group stages of the FIFA world cup was announced that there was bound to be news and gossip. And in true style there is.
Barely three days after the grouping schedule of the football tournament was announced, is the nation of England once again gripped with tales of football conspiracies. And this time, it is not about Hooliganism or the hated Hand of God.

Reports from a tabloid claim that the English Football squad are going to be given Viagra to prepare them for the upcoming world. With the world cup barely six months away, Fabio Cappello—Head of the English squad is in the plans of fine tuning his final team.
In a bid to improve the team’s effectiveness and adaptation, it is said that Viagra pills are being considered.
The English FA have denied these claims.
Whilst the truth of these allegation are yet to be verified, there is little doubt that the effects of Viagra, where it to be used, would result in mostly positive benefits for the team.
Viagra tablets are internationally recognized and accepted as the default and proven answer for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. However, alongside its healing properties for impotency, Viagra tablets have been shown to have other important benefits.

This ensures that, when taken, people who are found in areas of high altitude are able to receive adequate oxygen despite the relatively thin atmosphere. Studies on cyclist who performed with and without Viagra showed that they were able to perform their laps with 10% more efficiency.
Parts of South Africa are found in regions of Altitude. Rustenburg in particular, which is the venue of the opening games for England, is set to be above 5,000 feet above sea level. This means that some players might be prone to Mountain sickness—an ailment that is found in these conditions.
A spokes person of the FA has however refuted this claims explaining that “…..the England medical staff are conducting detailed research with a variety of experts ahead of next year's World Cup.” He also went on to add that "… there has been no discussion with regard to Viagra and certainly no plans for the players to take it in South Africa at the tournament."
Viagra tablets are produced by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer and used by over 30 million people in the world. Blue in color and shaped like a diamond, the pills are provided in doses of 25mg, 50mg and 100mg.
