Events went by without interruption until some residents who had drunk a lot of the juice began to complain about observed side effects. This resulted into an investigation of the juice by the Health ministry. The results were nothing short of alarming. It seemed that fraudulent members of the society had taken to mixing the juice with crushed parts of Viagra. The fruit juice was sold with claims that it was produced from traditional special herbs and could effectively combat the effects of erectile dysfunction. Many unsuspecting citizens bought into this lie and purchased alarming quantities of the drug.

The danger of the situation does not evade the Health Ministry of Malaysia. Even though Viagra is sold without a prescription in some countries, it is widely known that an overdose of Viagra tablets can result in some terrible side effects. People who were buying this magic juice were most probably drinking more than their fair share of the prescribed Viagra dosage. Also found to be at risk were people suffering from heart and blood pressure conditions that would not support the use of Viagra.

None of this was disclosed to the unsuspecting public of Malaysia. Instead the reading on the pack announced that it would provide sexual benefits to both male and female. Erectile dysfunction is very much a present factor in Malaysia as it is in the rest of the world. Like most countries, Viagra tablets can be purchased with a doctor’s prescription in Malaysia.

The law enforcement officers serving the Health ministry have since begun a series of raids with the aim of seizing the illegal fruit juice. Hundreds of cartons of the contaminated juice have been recovered with over 30 retailers already found to be involved.  The company headquarters located at Subang Jaya has also been closed down with three marketing officers as well as the caretaker held for questioning; however reports indicate that the actual manufacturing of the drink was done somewhere else. The owners of the company have yet to be found.
