Abortion vs Viagra

Viagra has always been ingrained in controversy. The notion of an anti impotence drug that could restore the virility of even men over the age of 80 was the stuff of science fiction in the early years of the century. And yet it happened.

In the years since its release much has been said about the powers of the little blue diamond. Unsurprisingly, most of these have been untrue and occasionally humorous. The comments of Senator Barbara Boxer borders on the latter.

In a recent argument on the US senate floor, the Senator from California compared a woman’s right to an abortion to equaling that of a man’s right to buy Viagra.

Her comments stemmed from recent plans by the currently led Obama administration to introduce new health care plans. In this amendment, insurance plans would not be held eligible for payment in the event that a woman performed an abortion.

Instead, women who underwent the procedure for an abortion would only be qualified for insurance relief if she purchased the policy herself. Senator Barbara was in opposition to this amendment.

Senator Barbara’s comment has already caused a widening of the pool between people who are opposed to abortion and those who are not.

Her argument with the Viagra pill is based on the credible logic that if men can choose how to treat their body when it’s functioning does not please them, then so also can a woman.

Oppositions say that this logic is blindsided as male erectile dysfunction does not result in the loss of another life as experienced in abortions.

Erectile dysfunction is very common and occurs in 2 out of every 20 men. Much of the people who suffer from this condition are found to be above the age of 50.

However, it can also be discovered in younger men. Alongside old age, erectile dysfunction can be caused by factors such as high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, diabetes and alcoholism.

In most of these cases the effects can easily be reversed for a period with the use of Viagra. The effects of Viagra pills when taken are found to last for a period of 3 to 4 hours.

In some cases, depending on the dosage this length might be longer or shorter. Viagra tablets, just like every other erectile dysfunction drug, occasionally might result in some mild side effects. But these also quickly fade once the drug leaves the system.

There have been many incidences of controversy involving Viagra tablets. Barely two months ago, citizens and workers of a state in the United States went on a strike because the government had failed to implement plans which, amongst many other things, promised the provision of Viagra tablets to people who use it.

Viagra tablets are sold in pharmacies all over the world. In some countries it is possible to buy Viagra tablets without a prescription. However, enjoying this benefit will be affected by where you buy your Viagra tablets from.

There are many who are convinced that there is no relationship between Senator Barbara’s claim and the use of Viagra, but the two incidences do bear some slight relationship.

Viagra tablets are required for the cure of male impotency. Without an erection a man is unable to have sex with women. Without sex women would not be able to get pregnant.

Taking Viagra pills might be vastly different from getting an abortion, but one is the effect of another.

Perhaps therein lies Senator Barbara’s argument.
